Weekend Hiking in Another World

The roomies! We had to band together because no one else would talk to us. (Sarah's not really a meanie, she just felt like being a Negative Nancy in this picture.)

Our bunk room!

The view from our patio! It was a lovely little creek.

A mossy wall on the way to our hiking trail.

My favorite picture I took the whole weekend. Postcard material?

This car was dragging a horse. Sarah really wanted me to take a picture of this.

We got to pet these horses!

Silly faces!

Yeah, we came across this dead cow on the trail, and it really caught me off guard and made me scream.

An adorable family of horses we saw on the mountain! They're wild horses!

A random tiny house along the way. You can see the she-wolf that led us up and down the mountain for some reason. She was a real sweetie and played with us the whole way!

At the top of the mountain: It was SOOOO cool! All of the fog around both sides of the peak was visible (and getting me damp). All of the fog from one side spilled over to the other side like a big bowl of fog soup!

Heading towards the summit.

You can't really see it, but there are people climbing up on the other side of the fence.

Alex posing outside of her new house (aka our "hostel").

Trucío, the little town that was our base camp.

The main street of town. That's about all there is.

The roomies!

We've reached the summit! The tiny metal house at our feet marks the altitude and you can put little cards with your name and the date inside. My hands were waaaay too cold to do this.

  1. Very nice pictures. I like the one with the 3 wild horses (Chester?) the best. Second best is the fog picture. I bet that was really fun to see.

  2. I really love the picture of the horses and I think I want to live in the random little house. Do you think the she wolf would get along with Huey?
