Hello group!
Luckily, I've got internet on this island. Woo hoo! It feels oh so good to be able to sit in the comfort of one's living room and surf the internet again. But don't worry, I'm not wasting away my beach vacation in our condo...
For those of you who are uninformed, I chose to go to Lanzarote in the Canarie Islands for the second half of my spring break with roomie Sarah and friend Alex and Alex's friend Julie. So far we've been having a blast!
The trip here wasn't too great, however. We took a night bus from Bilbao to Madrid that left at 1:30 am and didn't arrive in Madrid until 5:30. Sadly, I got almost zero sleep on the way... Once we arrived in Madrid, we had to find a way to reach the airport. We ended up taking the Metro and complaining about the extra 1 EU supplemental fee at the airport the entire time. Once we arrived we waited around the airport, I dropped my computer that miraculously still works entirely fine, and then we boarded our two hour flight to Lanzarote - that happened to be infested with screaming babies. Needless to say I didn't get too much more sleep on that flight. Thank God for my iPod...
Once we arrived however, we had a blast! Our condos are great and right next to each other! (Pictures to come.) They've got fully stocked kitchens, a bathroom, bedroom, living room, and a beautiful private patio that has an ocean view! Julie chose the location and she did a really good job!
After arriving, we spent some time napping and sunning by the beach and on our patio until Julie arrived (she flew in later from Paris where she's studying abroad). Then we walked to a grocery store and bought some supplies for breakfasts and other meals to save money. I'm excited for our spaghetti night tonight! But last night we decided to celebrate our arrival by going to an Indian restaurant! It. Was. Fabulous. Sarah said it was the best meal she's had since she's arrived in Spain. I wouldn't go that far myself, but I definitely enjoyed my samosas and chicken biryani with garlic naan. Mmm Mmm! After our amazing meal we walked home with 8 liter jugs of water (super heavy) and watched Atonement before calling it a night.
I love this vacation thing!
It sounds like a lovely way to spend your break from classes. I can't wait to see the photos!!!

Which computer did you drop? Glad to read it still works, though.
